Hi

I'm Darren I'm new to this app, finding it very useful. I'm calorie counting and working out regularly at the gym.

Currently 86 kg and looking to get down to 75 kg just by eating well and doing cardio.

I love the treadmill and the bike at the gym. I must be sick! Later looking to tone up with weights.

Anyone else on a similar journey?

    Hi Darren

I would consider incorporating resistance training now (or, yesterday!) rather than wait. When you're in a deficit, you'll be losing fat and muscle. Muscle is hard to gain, so you want to keep as much as you can - weight training whilst dieting (and eating adequate protein) will help you retain your muscle.

"Toning up" is simply losing fat to make your muscles appear more defined - once you're lean enough, you can of course build your muscle, which requires eating at maintenance level as a minimum (for recomp) or in a slight surplus...
