    Get someone to chase you...

    :D

I think there are some running programs - couch to 5k, is suitable for beginners perhaps? I don't really know, you couldn't pay me to run!

Losing weight is all down to having a calorie deficit.... So, focusing on food will be your biggest contributing factor. Exercise is great for health, and expending some energy which allows you to eat a little more, but isn't necessary. Do something you enjoy!

Thats not bad going at all! I would consider anything about 10K per day to be pretty good!

Yep good to start with walking build up your distance and pace then if you still feel you need to be a runner ( I walk and have dropped 20kg) slowly add periods of running into your walks ( walk 100 paces run 50 etc.) and then gradually make the running bits longer until you are only running. There are articles on this on MFP I think its what they refer to as interval training. Good luck. Any movement is an improvement.
