Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome recovery

Hey all,
a week ago I was diagnosed with tarsal tunnel syndrome - a very mild case. Have no pain, partial sensation in my foot I only tripped on a flight of stairs once...I find my left calf is working decently hard tough as i get muscle soreness when having to walk a decent distance. Going for a nerve conduction study soon but will only get results in a few weeks.

I'm legally blind and a runner. I LOVE running! I find it very freeing, guide has to worry about everything...No need to really think about where you're going, what obstacles you'll hit or anything you just....Run! I'm also registered for the Army Run in late September.

Any ideas how to speed up my recovery? I ice my ankle at least twice a day, was given 2 sample bottles of Vimovo and followed the doctor's orders as prescribed. It screwed around with my digestive system however so had to stop taking it and am taking Extra-Strength Advil now. Go swimming regularly, do an upper-body workout at the gym, no running...Any otehr ideas or suggestions?
