Any tips or advice on how to eat at potlucks and family/friend gatherings? Do you log the meals by guessing or not log at all? And just try to find the best options at potlucks? And at family gatherings when someone makes the meal for you do you just eat small portions?

Best guess and portion control for me, it's only one meal per week and I have a lot of exercise calories available, so I don't stress too much about it. You could maybe discuss recipes as part of the conversation

Guesstimate amount and pick something similar in data base.

Try to make good choices - eg more salad, fruit etc and less high calorie options.

Take something yourself like a veggie or fruit platter or green salad if you can.

Guess work from the closest available on the data base and over estimate portion amounts is how I go about it.

Bring something you know you can have. Eat something small to tie you over if there isn't much. Log as best you can. Drink water!

One tip I saw for events like potlucks is to put together a plate and then take a picture of it to log later.
