If the last meal of my day is at 5pm. and i do not eat again till 7-8am, would that be considered fasting. how many hours does it require to be fasting?

Fasting is not eating, so yes, it would be considered fasting.

It's less than 16 hours, so it wouldn't be considered any named fasting "protocol".

But it really makes no difference. It makes the same kind of difference as putting on left shoe first, or right shoe first, makes.

That would be 14-15 hours of fasting. So yeah in a way it's fasting. But I would do at least 16 hours of faating.

14 hours is actually a recommended start for women

    What do you mean?

do you do it daily or alternate?
If it's the plain ol 16:8/18:6, I "do" it most days.

are the benefits less eating or...?
It may (or may not) be easier to stick to eating less.
"You have to eat less if you want to lose/maintain" still applies.
