Carb Cycling - Does anyone practice this method? If so, how do you cycle your carbs around your workouts? Any tips? I have read numerous articles on this but they all cycle carbs differently. I have recently just been focusing on moderately low carbs (around 50 per day) and just started back at the gym with one day of lifting and two days of GRIT and I want to cycle my carbs to better help me lose body fat.

Any suggestions would be awesome!

I cycle carbs. I usually have my one high day either on leg day or the day before (more often than not I have it on Sunday because it's the weekend and it's more fun :p) I have normal days and low days throughout the rest of the week, usually low days are non training days

Not sure how helpful it is - there's no possible way of measuring the effectiveness of cycling compared to steady calories over a week. It gives me the opportunity to have a high day though, which is good for "life" :D

Thank you. I understand that we need carbs to help muscle growth and recovery but I am not sure if my higher carb day would be the day of my heavy workout or the day after. There are so many mixed reviews out there that it is confusing. I start Les Mills GRIT program this week and it runs for 8 weeks and I just want to make the most out of it. :)

I would do it on the day...
I do it before sometimes as I tend to do IF most days, and use the food from the night before as "fuel".

When I was doing it, I did high carbs days (2x my weight) on lifting days, and low carb days (130g or less) on my non lifting days. I stopped carb cycling because my low carb days were brutal. I am a volume eater, and fat is just too many calories and I was never full.

I have been working on it for the last month or so. I do high carb on my lifting days, I workout in the evenings. I do lower carb on my less intense workout days. I would think if you workout in the morning that high carb days the day before your workout might work? I don't know though.

I cycle, but my low carb days are only about 70g less than my high carb (307g/284g/234g) - I also don't tie mine specifically to a workout day (my RD has me on a cycle that goes H/M/L/H/M/M/L) - low carb day I also add about 10g more fat
