For the thousandth time I started my diet today, and as usual I did amazing all day long until I got home, I stressed out and binged whatever I could. It's seriously been about a year now since I have been trying to lose weight and I haven't lost anything significant only fluxuated which I know is worse for you. How can I be so weak I never used to be. How did you seriously over come it?

I took a serious look at the choices I was making and removed (temporarily) some of the hard to resist foods from my house. I did a lot of reading here and decided to let go of everything I believed to be true about weight loss and trusted in the experienced voices here. Best thing I could have done. No more guilt for being weak. No more guilt over eating something "bad". It was liberating.

You say you did amazing until home. What do you mean by amazing? Did you plan your food day ahead of time of had to think about it when you got home?

Why did you stress out? Was it food/diet related?

I found pre-planning and preparing as much as possible helped with sticking to my goals. If I knew I had food available and made, I didn't need to "look" for other options.

Hi! By amazing, what do you mean?
Maybe your body didn't get enough energy across the day and whenever food became available it used our instinct... One thing that helped me is to always eat throughout all the day in smaller portions, which means a snack around 4-5pm which keeps me full until lunch time. Maybe also try to have healthier options at home, try starting the meal with a soup too which is mostly liquid and will help you get filled?

Took a peak at your diary to see what could be wrong and there are no entries. How are you doing amazing if you don't know what you are consuming? No way to know how to help prevent the binge except to recommend logging and consider preplanning your day.

I agree with pre-logging your food. I typically have my entire day logged before I eat "breakfast." (Breakfast in quotes because I don't eat food until 9:30 or 10:00, although I'm up at 5:00.)

Dinner is my biggest meal of the day. Which means it's going to affect my food diary the most, right? So, I plan what I'm having for dinner - tonight it's Olive Garden soup, salad, and breadsticks - then work the rest of my day around dinner. I pack breakfast, lunch and snacks to take to work. And that's it. Day is planned and I know where I'm at.

I also plan for a small dessert every night. I can usually ignore other treats throughout the day, because I know I'm going to have my treat after dinner. If someone brings treats to work, I'll have to screw around in my diary to make it fit. Sometimes it is worth it, sometimes it isn't.
