Bucket List

So in terms of health and fitness, what's on your bucket list? Can be anything...

Mine-
Run the Boston Marathon and come in within the first 100 people.
Travel to Tibet and hike the Andes / Mt. Everest.
Enter a female body building competition, and win!
Have a legitimate Muay Thai match, and win by KO!

Do a freakin' pull up....and climb the Grand Teton in August. At the rate I'm going the climb will come before the pull up. :s

Cycle a comfortable and successful 600 km randonnee. That seems to be my worst distance.
    Cycle another 1000 km randonnee.
    Cycle another 1200 km randonnee.
    Cycle another 24 hour event.

It's been a while since I've done these things but I'm building up again.

    Run a half-marathon
    Run a marathon
    Lift half my body weight
    Lift my body weight

These last three are more to feed my adventurous side than about fitness goals but they do require me to be quite fit to complete them.
Hike every trail/mountain/volcano out there (in the US and around the world)
    Walk the Great Wall
    Dive the Barrier Reef

    Dive the Barrier Reef

I took a little submarine tour of the Great Barrier Reef and hesitantly snorkled a little bit. Did a cruise out there which offered those options. It was one of the highlights of the trip. :)

I've always wanted to do it, but funny thing is I'm afraid of the ocean lol. So it's one of those be adventurous and conquer my fear kind of thing. I'm afraid of heights as well, but not as much as I used to be after my husband got me to go rock climbing a few times. Definitely something I'd do again.

I'm actually a bit afraid of the ocean too! My friend with me was diving down to the reef and everything and I just barely managed to put my face in the water! I also took a seasickness tablet on the way back, fell asleep on deck because those things knock me out, and ended up with a bad sunburn.

But I did still enjoy it. :)

    I live for bucket lists!

My husband and I are going to the Amazon in October (a large part of why I'm just now getting myself together), so I'm just about ready to scratch one thing off The List.

I want to get involved in circus arts, so will be working on strength and flexibility once I hit my initial goals.

Few years ago, I have walked one long distance trail (that was only exception of my otherwise sedentary life) and I've fall in love with it. So, much of my bucket list includes long distance trails:

    - Walk at least one more Camino de Santiago <3 (around 800km)
    - Hike the Velebit Hiking trail (around 100km)
    - Hike & sea kayak Adriatic cost (never tried sea kayaking, but looks heavenly)
    - Bike one of the German Romantic roads (The Romantic Road or Romantic Rhine Road)
    - Bike through France (ideally with some language learning :) )
    - Run half-marathon
    - Build strength and flexibility until being able to do scorpion pose and flying lizard pose
    - Become semi-vegan (i.e. eat animal products occasionally)

I am so far away from anything from the list, but when I dream, I dream big :)

Mine is pretty small but I just want to run a 5K. Lol. I want to be a runner so bad but I just suck so bad at it.
A few years ago I did the C25K thing and I was telling my husband how hard it was to just run for 30 seconds straight but I was going to stick with it because I really wanted to run in a 5K one day. He said that was silly and he could do it. I told him there was no way and he didn't understand how hard it was...so my 350 lb husband went out and easily ran a freaking mile. The next weekend he signed up for a local 5K and ran the whole thing. I immediately quit the C25K program because I was so sad. Every time he wears his stupid 5K shirt I want to punch him in the nuts.

@mccord62803 oh, please, don't quit! :) I was using that app, it is really awesome.
At first it was so hard for me also to run that 30 seconds. I was feeling like my lungs will explode or that I'm gonna loose my consciousness :)
I was also ashamed to tell anyone how little I was actually running, so I told everyone that I was going for a walk :)
But, in a few weeks I could run 15 mins without pause, and that was huge for me. Unfortunately I had to quit/pause then because I had problems with knees. I plan to start it again when I'll feel that I have strengthen my knees enough.

So, to make my point - don't quit, it will become much easier! It's a great way to become a runner!
Just educate yourself about proper running technique so that you don't hurt your knees. :)

@daneejela Thank you for the encouragement. ❤️

Unfortunately, that was several years ago. I am now dealing with some sort of back injury and just walking can be painful. I still have hope that we'll eventually get the problem figured out and I'll be able to try again. :)
