Just purchased CLA for the first time wondering if anyone takes it and how it is going for you? 1 pill each meal or all 3 at night?

From the most reliable and evidence-based supplement research site on the internet:

I started taking CLA today. I read several studies and reviews before deciding to give it a try. I'm not anticipating anything super dramatic but I am optimistic it will aid in my recomp goals.

Don't waste your money. Any results found were less than a 3% difference is total fat loss. Which could be purely circumstantial.

I found one study that showed a 6% drop in body fat after 6months. Cant seen to locate it now in search history but it seems like some people get no results while others it really helps. Feeling stuck and frustrated with my recomp so I decided it's worth a try. I will report back any progress.

Here's one good resource. The affects appear modest and will plateau eventually but I will gladly accept modest assistance along the way towards my goals.

  • You'll get alot of "waste of money" replies but if it helped you reach your goals even if the effects are placebo(not saying they are) or if its minimally beneficial, it still helped. Especially when the said supplement isn't harmful to your health in any way. Lets be real we all waste money on things we don't essentially need so whats the big deal when someone wants to spend THEIR money on supplements. As long as you can afford it and aren't living off bare minimums.

I've been taking it for about a year and I can't say it has helped me lose any extra weight. I categorize it the same as me taking fish oil or vitamins. At the end of the day its just another omega fatty acid. I would also take it as suggested.

I took it for 3 or 4 months while I was losing weight. No way to tell how much it helped, if any, but my weight loss was very consistent and pretty near linear. Can't see how it would do any harm and it's not expensive so it's light on the pocket book.

For those of you who have been taking it did you notice it aided in muscle growth, or at minimum muscle retention during weight loss?

If you look at the examine link, which does meta-analysis, this is the conclusion:

"A pretty poor fat burner, and even more unreliable than it is bad at burning fat. It might make you lose enough fat to compensate for that cookie you had once.

It has no astounding other affects on health or anything, it just seems to be quite an overhyped and uneventful molecule(s)"

    And this regarding muscle retention

"Some evidence that CLA can preserve lean mass during fat loss in an obese cohort of patients, but even in this subgroup the results are highly unreliable. "

Yes, I do and thank you for reminding me to take them today. I almost forgot, lol! I just starting taking them so I can't really give you a good review yet. But I am taking it with a calorie deficit and heavy workouts. Just was hoping it would help. :)
