Has anyone tried the advocare 24 day challenge and had success? I'm thinking about as I've had a lot or recommendations but it's pretty expensive.

Nah, I lost 50lbs just by eating less calories and it was totally free8

I considered doing one a few months back. The cost was the most prohibitive for me. I am SO glad I didn't invest any money into Advocare (or Isagenix, etc). There is NOTHING their products offer that will cause you to lose weight vs eating at a calorie deficit. I would rather save the $$ I would have spent on this junk and save it for when I lose the weight and need new clothes8

You generally won't get much support for MLM programs around here. They are very expensive and usually push people to become "coaches". On top of that, many of their products are fairly mediocre in terms of quality (www.labdoor.com for results; exception is their MRP which is actually fairly good). Personally, I find it much better to learn what foods impact hunger the most and using MFP to track calories as it's free.3

Thanks guys! I keep seeing friends posing about it and whatnot, but I definitely don't want to waste my money.1

You may have to play around with your eating style a little but calorie control is what matters. Some prefer lower carbs, others prefer lower fats.... Some prefer restrictive diets... some prefer flexible diets.
But personally, I don't know anyone who has long term success using protein shakes and "supplements" to sustain a health lifestyle.3 -
Cheaper to burn your money.5

I agree, it is pricey and not sustainable, however, I have done the 24 day challenge on two occasions to help me get back on track and kick my sugar cravings over the past few years.
I do like Advocare products and find they work well for me, I lost over 15lbs following the 24 day challenge.
Looking back, I do AGREE though that if you don't have to put anything in your body unless it is real food, than why do it - there is a lot of pill taking that goes along with the Advocare challenge, to be honest.2 -
Just eat at a deficit and move more. You can do it3

Please don't do this. I have a lot of friends on the Advocare train and I wish I could shake them all and tell them that all they need is this neat little app and some discipline.3

I was going to sign up for this but honestly the more I looked at it the less I liked it and it looks like a bunch of pill popping and some shakes and not much more. Their website is difficult to navigate and the last straw was when my coach told me before I start that she wanted me to give up MyFitnessPal. I have no idea why she sent it in an email. I gave the 24 day challenge to my husband and am going to nutrition counseling instead and keeping MyFitnessPal.1

If challenges are important to you, you can win your money back with dietbet, if you are successful.0 -
No. that being said, it sounds like you've made a decision that you'd like to lose weight and you were willing to invest money to do it. I recommend saving your money and redirecting the investment in time to learn about how to do it. Luckily you're in the right place! Best of luck leaning0

All these supplement companies are very shrewd in getting their customers to do viral marketing for them by constantly posting pics while using their product. I'm in a couple challenges at dietbet and it makes me laugh when I see all the photos of people holding their Shakeology container and standing in front of a Beach Body workout screen. Don't fall for you, you can do it more permanently by learning how to manage your diet.0 -

not to mention most of these MLM products steal pics of people who worked hard to lose weight the natural way(hard work, diet, etc) and then use them as before and afters to sell the product.Heck,Ive seen some where they took pics of women who were clearly pregnant as their before and their post pregnancy as their after. its comical really.

Eating less than normal should save money. Buying a pointless programme with supplements is expensive. Don't waste your money when you control your calorie intake and therefore your weight loss.1
