    1. Enter your stats in MFP.
    2. When you set your weight loss goal, choose a reasonable number, no more than 1% of your body weight per week.
    3. Follow MFP's calorie guidelines as closely as possible. Don't try to come in under your calorie goal.
    4. Measure your food with a food scale if possible. If not possible, make good faith efforts.
    5. Eat whatever you like, but try to eat a varied diet including fruits and vegetables.
    6. Introduce some kind of exercise, if you're not doing it already. If you're not sure about the calorie burns, start off by eating half of your exercise calories.
    7. Wait at least several weeks, and then if you're not seeing results start making a few adjustments.
