Birth Control and Weight Gain

Went on birth control recently, and I've gained seven pounds in three weeks. o.o I get that hormonal changes are normal, but I've been on this pill (Alesse) before, and it was pretty stable. Also, this pill usually doesn't case weight gain, purportedly.

I don't see how I gained that much weight otherwise, though! I was eating to maintain my weight. I already lost the 10 pounds I wanted to... it's a pain to see that undone in three short weeks.

Does anyone else have a similar experience?

I'm in a similar situation, I've had horrible side effects since going on, have basically felt pre menstral for 6 weeks. Personally I'm really bloated, so I would attribute weight gain to that. As long as you're not eating more than maintenance it can't just cause magical weight gain, though you may retain more water. Just watch the cravings and be sure to hit your target and not go over. After 3 months it's supposed to level out, but if you are concerned talk to your doctor.
