Being "fit" to me implies having a lean, but muscular physique - for many this would require putting on muscle, not weight. It also implies having a level of cardio fitness, which isn't necessarily weight related either.
If this is your goal, I wouldn't recommend trying to put weight on faster as you're likely to get fat! As well as eating in a caloric surplus, if you're trying to grow muscle, are you also doing a progressive lifting program?4 -
2kg in a month is enough. 1kg per week is going to be lots of additional bodyfat I'm afraid.4

The only thing quick weight gain will do is make you fat. If you want to be fit, have a small surplus and a good progressive overload lifting program. And after you gain a certain amount of weight, you will probably need to cycle between bulk back to cut and repeat as necessary.2

Everyone wants it quick and easy.... it aint easy nor quick! Its a lifestyle. Nothing easy is worth or will give you the satisfaction of what you can achieve..... dig deep and enjoy your journey!4

Thanks guys! It was helpful. I am doing work out at home. I'll start a good progressive overload lifting program too. I don't want to be fat either so i won't worry about quick weight gain from now on.

You have to eat big to be big. Eat 6-8 meals a day with lean meat.0

Heheh. I've gained 20# since January. Ten of those pounds have been in the last month and a half. I just took my relatively normal diet of about 3K calories and added protien shakes + bulking shakes to my daily consumption. What a lot of these people aren't mentioning is that for some people - me for example - to get to a meaningful surplus I end up eating/drinking so much that I'm never hungry and that every "meal" is an exercise in willpower. Eating when you feel full all the time gets old. So.... be sure that whatever you eat is as tasty as you can make it. Spice it up! ... and don't feel shy about using supplements - either commercial or homemade to boost your caloric intake.0

1 kg per week is just going to be a whole lot of fat...
Putting on lean mass is a slow process, it doesn't happen overnight.0 -

If you gained that much weight, that fast, you over extended your surplus, which is why it was probably hard and increase the amount of at gained.0 -

Since Jan 1, 2017 my weight gain is approximately 1 pound a week. I don't think that is excessive. Still the same waist size, lol. Part of my recent fast gains are predominantly because of creatine loading. Once I was past the loading stage and into maintenance I've only gained about a pound a week.0
