Can anyone advise on some good food to eat post workout as a snack. Trying to loose weight and often not meeting my calorie target as not eating enough but I'm worried about not loosing weight if I eat more!!

I don't know what kind of workouts you are doing so it's hard to say. If I can't eat a meal post work out then I make sure to have a good protein shake - I use a plant based shake that only has 110 calories but has 23g of protein. If I am having a meal I try to have mainly protein, amino's and some plant based carbs to refuel my body and help the repair process. For something light I sometimes just have a pile of scrambled egg whites, an apple, a coconut water... I mainly stick to protein and veggies. I do eat vegetable carbs. If I do a hard cardio session I try to have something that will replace my sugars... fruit or something like that. I stay away from fats for workout recovery.

I usually just wait til my next meal, but if you're struggling to fit in enough food what about a protein shake and banana, perhaps with some nuts (easy to pack and doesn't require a fridge?) or a shake with a pb&j sandwich?

For the vast majority of people, meal timing around workouts is majoring in the minors. Eat what you want as long as it fits your daily calorie and nutritional goals.

Banana...cheap, low calorie, healthy, filling, lots of potassium. And I often don't want to down something heavy right after a workout.
