It's the minimum recommended intake for a male, but without knowing stats it's hard to say whether it's healthy or not3

Needs more context. It would be a healthy amount for some and not for others. Things like height, age, weight, sex, activity levels, goals, etc come into play.1

I've been running on 1590 as per MFP for best part of 8 month no problem0

I would say 1500 is perfect for a young woman who is not too active, to maintain her weight. For a man - I dont know...0

I maintain on 3,000 calories per day, so no, 1,500 calories wouldn't be healthy.0

What does "no problem" mean? You may feel fine, but do you know if it's having any detrimental effect - bone loss, nutrient deficiencies, hormonal issues etc? Sometimes those things take a long time to develop or may only be detectable by having tests done....1
