Tape My Mouth Shut!

No, really -- I do! I use a CPAP at night and was having trouble keeping my mouth shut (I use just the nasal input and air can escape through my mouth, waking me up). So I read where someone actually taped his mouth shut to keep air from blowing out his mouth. I've been doing that for a few weeks now and I'm really sleeping better.

Then I got to thinking I could keep my mouth taped shut and it would help all day long. I wouldn't be able to pop a few jelly beans in every time I passed the jar, and would really have to think about that cookie -- it takes a bit to get the tape off and maybe that would be enough time for me to stop and think about what I'm doing! Plus DH would get a bonus because I wouldn't be yakking at him all day.

So what do you think? No more mindless eating?

Okay - mostly just kidding, but I really did think about it this morning!

Nothing to do with your actual point, but have you tried different types of masks?

I have tried different masks, but ultimately like the nasal ones best. The only problem with it is that I don't keep my mouth closed. The tape (paper surgical tape) works great. Thanks for asking!
