Thoughts on IIFYM

So I lost 100 lbs. over the last year following an extremely restricted diet of zero carbs and high protein however I'm realizing it's not sustainable long term & I ended up giving myself kidney stones & an eating disorder and being afraid of food. Wondering if this is a good way to acclimatize myself to a regular schedule of healthy eating. Thoughts? Success stories? Opinions? Other recommendations?

With an eating disorder, it might be best to talk to your treatment team about this if you're still seeing them.7

There are a lot of us that follow a flexible diet, but at the end of the day, don't restrict yourself to one style or eating or the next. Eat foods that you enjoy and that keep you full. I personally concentrate on calories and protein. Outside of that, I am pretty much just eating whatever. Although, i tend to get more carbs since they satiate me the most.1

The idea is to do whatever works best for you in order to help you keep a healthy weight long term. Once you figure out what macro ratio keeps you satisfied within your calorie limits, yes IIFYM is a great way to do that.2
