University weight gain

Hi everyone!

I wanted to create a discussion for university students who feel they have put on weight (from the excessive amounts of vodka and the drunken food that follows)!
I'm 20 years old and in my second year of university, I want to lose around 7-10 pounds so that I can fit feel comfortable in my jeans again!
Just thought it'd be good to get a few of us on board to support and motivate each other as it is hard to find the balance between going out at uni and being healthy.

Thank you, Eleanor x

    I'm a third year about to move on to postgrad. Dropped 26 lbs since February 2016 which is less dramatic than some but I was only 160 to begin with.

    Wow that's amazing!!! Did you literally just use myfitnesspal? I know I only have a small amount to lose compared to some but it's just hard to stay motivated, you seem to get comfortable with the extra weight haha!

    Started college at 110 lbs and super active. I hate school but felt like I had to go anyway. Ended up super depressed and 5 years later, I'm graduating in May. My high weight was 40 days ago and it was 159 lbs. I hovered around 130 for a while, but it was a slow creep overall! Down to 153 in 35 days of MFP.

    edit: I don't even drink anymore, so I can only blame maybe 5 lbs of it on vodka ;_;

    Sorry to hear that yellingkimber, uni is so so hard, it's so much harder than people think. Congratulations for your weight loss and graduating though you should be super proud of yourself!! Keep going girl!

    Beer drinking and the food that followed was the big one for me

    Yup. I've regained some when my logging falls apart during holidays but got it down again.

    No exercise really either, walking to campus and into town is all I really do. I just ate less and have gone from a UK size 14 to a UK 8. Once you get into the swing of things it's actually quite easy. And get the app too. Makes logging on the go much easier.

    Same thing with me! I'm horrible with stress eating. I did a good job for the first 3 years, but year four saw 30 pounds of weight gain :(
    Started constant logging with mfp one year ago today. Now I'm down 35 pounds. Hoping for 10 more before I start my second year of grad school!

    It's so easy to do though, when it's exam times I always eat to distract myself/because of nerves!! That's truly amazing though well done you! Really helps to hear these stories as it's just so easy to carry on not caring! Need to start now so more pounds don't keep creeping on!

    Completely know what you mean! I was 140 when I started uni and now a few weeks before graduation I'm stuck at 175 :( hoping I can drop some weight before I graduate though!
