How long does it take to get used to a water-rower or any rower?

I own a water rower , and i can only manage 4 or 5 minutes max before my legs give up. Is this normal? How long will it take before i can do more? I know everyone's different but a ruff idea?

It sounds like a technique issue. The movement is as easy or as hard as you want it to be, so if you can't do more than 5 minutes at an easy pace, something's up. Have you watched videos of proper form? I actually hired a coach for a few sessions to help me, and it made a huge difference. If you want, you can post a video and we can try to "diagnose" it.
It's also possible that you just need to reduce the resistance. I don't use a water-tower, but I assume that means removing water from the tank.
What's your stroke rate (spm) and speed (minutes/500 meters)? It should say on the monitor.1
