Beginner Workout Schedule

Hi guys, I am looking for a good beginner fitness schedule.
Ideally I would like to do cardio 3x a week and strength training 2 times per week with active recovery in between. The only catch is I am worried that this might be too much for me. I worked out 6 days last week including an active recovery yoga day. I took a rest day on Saturday. Then I went for a 3 mile hike on Sunday. The hike was pretty intense for me because there was some steep parts that were practically rock climbing. I tried to go to the gym today but my hip hurt pretty badly after my warm-up and I ended up just stretching it out. Do you think I am over doing it or being a sissy?
Any advice? I'd like to do something active every day just so I get in the habit of exercising.

Hi harringtonen. I am looking for a good beginner exercise. I find that interval training works best for me. I have a bum knee that I have to supplement certain exercises for...
Here is something I just started today...
Jumping Jacks 30 s
Rest 30 s
Run in Place 30 s
Rest 30 s
Squats 30 s
Rest 30 s
Lunges 30 s
Rest 30 s
Abs 30 s
Rest 30 s
Push ups 30 s
Rest 30 s
Repeat 3 times for a total of 20 mins.
I danced for the length of a workout song as the warm up and did a cool down on a slow song.
For abs, find a calisthenic that you prefer.
Let me know if find something else... I'm open to try other things too0 -
Why don't you do cardio 1-2 times a week. Ease into training. If you hurt yourself take it easy, unless you want it to become a permanent damage.1
