Eat at a deficit and you will lose weight. It doesn't have to be salad or any specific food. Aim to eat a variety of healthy foods so that you are giving your body the nutrients/vitamins and the dietary fat it needs to absorb them.4

Is this good for what?
Why 2 salads a day? Are they replacing lunch and dinner? How many calories are you planning on consuming? What about fat, fibre and protien?
Drink as much water to turn your urine pale yellow. Any more than that and you're overdoing it and can cause serious complications (yes, there is such thing as drinking too much water).
Why not just eat the calories mfp gave you? Weight loss is all about calorie deficit, not about the food you eat/don't eat. No need to go to drastic measures to lose weight.
Also, carbs are not the enemy. They're in many foods such as vegetables, fruit, grains, beans, dairy, sugar.... you can eat carbs when you like. You can eat any food when you like as long as you are within your calories.4 -

Why only carbs at breakfast? The ingredients in the salads probably contain carbs.
Where is the protein and fat?
How many calories is this?
What are your goals?
Sounds boring, not filling, and unnecessary to me. You should aim to eat a variety of foods, focusing on those that provide nutrition (macros like protein, fat and carbs as well as micro nutrients), satiety (fills you up) and enjoyment (keeps you on track to have some treats).
Eating nothing but salad and drinking water is not required to be successful and for most people, that would result in quick failure.3 -
Even prisoners eat a more varied diet than that.
If your goal is to be punitive, you're on the right track. For weight loss and/or maintenance, flogging yourself with a limp celery stalk is totally unnecessary.8 -
I usually have a salad every single day. I add olive oil, chicken, veggies, cheese, balsamic glaze. My salad is the same calories (slightly better macros) than a big mac. i'm a volume eater so most of the time I pick the salad but you are free to eat how and when you want. It's not about food type or a particular macro, it's about overall calories.0

This is a recipe for a nightly binge for me! These are good things to incorporate into your day, but this would not work for me long term.3

SOunds spot on, it's likely the same as what I ate when I dropped from 85kg to 66.5kg so go with it.
I had
Breakfast - Apple, Banana and a Protein Shake (300 cals-ish)
Mid am snack - 25g nuts (150 cals)
Lunch - Chicken and cheese salad (lettuce and toms) with balsamic glaze. (300cals-ish
mid pm snack - Celery Stick x 2 and a protein shake. (200 cals-ish)
Dinner - Chicken, Chilli, Cheese, salad with a few white crackers (usually 3 or 4 lightly buttered). (500 cals-ish)
Pudding/treat if i'd been extra good/worked out that day : Nesquik with skimmed milk. (200 cals)
So an average day was around 1500 cals and a workout day got an extra 200.
If it works and you enjoy it, keep at it.2 -

Not such a good idea.
#1 - you're going to learn to hate salads post dieting
#2 - after you are done "dieting" then what? Maintenance is step 2 (a life long step). Will you develop a 2nd plan for that? Because maintenance will be (somewhat) fewer calories forever.
#3 - there will be carbs in your salad, not that there's anything magical about eliminating them anyway. Well, low carb is great for an initial "whoosh" in water weight loss. But that comes back when you start eating carbs again.2 -

How do you eat salads without carbs?
Beyond that, what's important is overall diet, not whether you eat salads or when you eat carbs.
Set a reasonable calorie limit, a reasonable protein and fat goal, and include healthy sources of fat in your diet (fatty fish, avocado, nuts and seeds, olives and olive oil -- both good on salads!).
Eat a good amount of vegetables (if you enjoy salads that should make it easy, but I'd make sure to add a variety of vegetables, not just lettuce).
If you are doing all this and enjoy eating low carb at lunch and dinner and higher carb at breakfast and having two salads a day, that's cool.0 -
I'd get bored of just salads but the way I eat them as a meal are definitely filling. If there is meat, cheese, nuts, beans along with all the veggies it is definitely a meal, so that is why I said it depends on what is in your salad.0

Avocado, Cheese, Chicken, Fish, Olive Oil, Bacon, dressings etc can all boost the essentials.

If you like salads and load them up with a variety of protein and healthy fats, I guess. Sounds a bit like you're trying to punish yourself into losing weight though. You'll only 'allow' carbs for breakfast? What is the reasoning behind this?0

Depends....... you can incorporate those into a salad, but I wouldn't assume that everyone shares the same definition.3 -

Every morning for the past two weeks I've eaten a bowl of spring mix, parsley, basil, chopped tomato, 3 eggs fried over easy in butter, a big scoop of guacamole, and hot sauce.
I highly recommend this salad.
Eat enough calories, fats, proteins, varieties in your salads and sure - this could be a good plan if you enjoy it.0 -

Although I wonder in this case what is the magic property of e.g. a salad with meat, eggs, cheese etc over any other meal for weight loss.
It tastes good to have cooked with raw and you can cram loads of lettuce in to feel more full... They're the only real positives other than the nutrition and water included in raw veg.0 -

Of course you can...but OP didn't say anything about that...going simply off of what is posted, it sounds like the OP would be doing a garden salad which I do regularly as a side (garden salad with spring greens, cucumber, and tomato...I like a pretty simple salad)...she mentioned nothing about protein or fat. A lot of people are under the impression that "healthy" means nothing but a bunch of veg and some fruit...2 -
I'm super short (only 5ft) so only get 1200 cals/day to lose weight. The salads I do enjoy (I like eggs, avocado, creamy dressings, some chicken) end up being very high calorie meals for me - about 500+ cals. So I have to eat salads in moderation. If I ate my favourite salads every day, I would definitely gain weight - not lose.
Also, the sheer boredom would drive me to binge on something super high calorie.0 -
Are we talking egg salad, chicken salad? Any kind of veggies though and you'll break your other arbitrary rule of 'no carbs after breakfast'.

Same here! One of my favorite lunches is a salad with grilled chicken that I make, but I limit how often I bring it because it tends to be one of my higher calorie lunches with everything that's in there.3
