Someone please explain what are macros and how the heck do you track them?

Macronutrients are carbohydrates, fat, and protein. If you log your foods, that information is included in your log along with the calorie counts (assuming you are choosing correct entries from the database).

    Protein, fat and carbohydrates.

To track them you count them.

You can count them by using MFP.

As above, depending on whether you want to lose weight, gain weight, muscle etc you would adjust your macros to suit.

You can lose or gain weight on *any* macro distribution (although you do want to make sure to get sufficient fat and protein to maintain your health). Building muscle does require a certain amount of protein, but we've got people here who have successfully met their weight and fitness goals with a pretty wide range of macro goals. I think the most important thing for weight loss is to find out what macro goals best promote satiety and make it easier to stay in a deficit.

Just use what the website gave you. There's no reason to modify them.

Whatever you want, medical reasons aside. Weight loss is all about the overall calories.
