Hello folks,
I am in my mid 30's and married with 2 small children. During my teens and 20's I had a very fast metabolism it seemed and I never paid attention to what I ate or when. I just did what I wanted. At about 5'10" I was usually 120-140lbs.
I've known for a while now in my 30's that I've been gaining. Especially after the children. I finally decided I needed to make some changes. I'm currently 190lbs with too much weight in my thighs, middle and chest.
I want to be healthier for myself, my wife and mu children. I joined myfitnesspal and started charting everything about 6 days ago. I haven't made any monumental changes thus far besides actually reading the backs of packages which I had NEVER done. I think the first few weeks are going to be simply tracking everything to see where I can and should make the biggest changes. So that's me.
Cheers

Welcome! I have had success with this program once already. I lost over 70 pounds and started off just as you did by educating myself on what I was putting in my body. As I started to lose a few pounds here and there I dug into the forums to see what others were doing. I picked up a few tips. Starting exercising and the pounds really came off. I did gain the weight back during grad school but now am back to it. Good luck on your weight loss journey. And congrats on making this change for yourself and your family!1
