I don't feel too strongly about it in terms of emotions, but I do like being able to look at all the numbers and graphs I can make from it. I weigh myself most days (pretty much every morning where I'm at home with no guests), and I like seeing if I can guess up or down based on the day before. I'm usually pretty good at guessing up or down now but still quite often wrong, there are just a lot of variables. I like to keep track of it but I don't stress if it bloats up 4lbs between Monday and Tuesday - I know I didn't eat an extra 14,000calories (ish) so I know it's not 4lbs of fat magically since the day before. I just like having as many numbers as possible so I can see that over time, overall, it's going down, so I'm doing the right thing!

i've been at this a long time now, so i really don't worry about what the scale shows. i only weigh once a week anyway, so whatever gain it shows, i expect it to be gone by next week.In the beginning it was hard to see those gains, but i knew i was sticking to my calorie goal, so logic prevailed over irrational fears.

I weigh in 3 times a week if I am training but if I go on vacation I forget about it

I can handle the daily fluctuations, I understand what causes them so I don't worry about them.

What I do struggle with though is when nothing happens seemingly for weeks at a time, each morning I stand on the scale and the number is the same as before, I know I've been below target, why won't the damn thing move?

This sends me into a self destructive spiral, I eat badly for a few days, the scale climbs (it's okay, I understand what happened) I get back on plan, the number on the scale starts to fall (yay!), and then it stalls again and I'm back to square 1.

I'm trying a new approach now, avoiding the scale for a little while and just sticking to plan, it's hard, I want to see the reward for my efforts, but I'm confident it will be worth it when I eventually do it!

I weigh daily and I can't say I read too much into the daily fluctuation, I record the trend on an excel chart using only my Friday weigh in and as long as that's still heading downwards I'm pretty happy.
