Hypothyroidism
I was wondering who is on lexythroxine and who takes a desiccated thyroid. I am on levythroxine and never thought about the later of the 2. I have done a lot of research these past few days and would like to know more about the natural approach. Which is better in your opinion?
Thanks for the help

I was on synthroid for years and felt miserable the entire time. My labs always came back great but I had all the horrible symptoms I had prior to getting on the meds. Finally I found a good endo and he added cytomel with my synthroid. That made a huge difference. I felt so much better.
About a year ago I asked him of I could try armour so I have been on that by itself for a year now. I feel about the same as i did on the synthroid/cytomel combination.
I HIGHLY recommend either adding cytomel or going to just armour.0 -

Have you had success with losing weight while on these? Ever since i was diagnosed and have been on medication for it i am having an extremely difficult time losing weight. it just stays the same no matter what i do0 -
Let us research this and get back to you.

NDT can be harder to get prescribed and at one time was limited supply as compared to synthroid/levo
I'm on Levo, synthroid makes me ill even though they are notionally the same
Also there is a huge range of 'normal' thyroid levels - so while yours could be normal it may not be your bodies optimal - I'm normal at 3.5 but feel like crap - my doc helps me keep myself at .45 and no issues losing weight0 -

Not really. I had a much harder time losing weight when I was only on synthroid. Now it's hard but only because i am older and I love to eat.1 -
I was on levo for years and felt awful, I asked to try Armour, and feel human again.1
