I dont think ive ever seen a live armadillo. They are always on the side of the road. :'(

Or occasionally sunk to the bottom of the deep end of a pool. . . ask me how I know.

I was so grossed out when my neighbor and I managed to get it out of my pool, it had some sort of weird growths on it's legs, so I called my pool guy to ask what I should do, he called the CDC because he had never had to deal with something like this. The solution was to super shock the pool water with chlorine.

I did take a picture of the poor dead critter, but didn't save it.

I agree that they are cute to watch, but for us horse people, they are a problem when they dig big burrows in our pastures.

Armadillos are also very heavy. For something about the size of a dachshund, they are very dense and heavy.

They remind me on non-prickly hedgehogs... from what I can tell in pictures. I've never seen an armadillo IRL.

Which may be why it sunk to the bottom of my pool instead of floating?

Gah this gives me the willies

Trust me, it was much worse in real life. It was too heavy for me to extract alone, had to call a friend to home help.

It did make me wonder if armadillos can swim or not.

I love armadillos. And yes I know they are invasive and destructive and can carry leprosy, lol. I'm just jealous of anything that can roll itself into an armored ball to avoid its problems. My tribute tattoo for my dead granny includes an armadillo. :)

I should but I probably won't. It sounds like a lot of extra work honestly, getting someone to take the picture, getting that onto my computer, logging onto here on same computer. Ugh, who has time for that.

Plus, surely you can just take my word on it, right? What could be more trustworthy than a random stranger on the internet?

    Abe knew what's up.

I may be on the computer tomorrow (the real one, not this little purse computer). If I already have a picture of my armadillo, I'll try to figure out how to get it uploaded.

Wow, that "strip club" club thread got 213 responses in a few hours before being shut down. My poor armadillo thread is languishing on page 2 after 6 days.

    We need nude armadillos!!!!!

I prefer a classy armadillo wearing a pant suit. Or an evening gown with a nice pashmina

I figured you for more the cowboy and chaps armadillo type.

    I like your thread.

When my kids were little they had a stuffed armadillo for some reason. Probably because of this book:

They called the armadillo a "marmadillo."

    That's all I got.

Nope. Just one of those things I happened to learn when I was stationed in Germany.
