Let's say I am under my calories for the day but over my fat grams. Will this effect me trying to lose weight?

Weight loss is all about calories.

No...the fat goal is a minimum, fats aren't bad!

Nope, the biggest difference between fat and carbs or protein is how calorie dense they are. 1 gram of fat has 9 calories so you get a lot less food for calories. But when it comes to calories as long as the number is less than your maintenance calories you'll lose weight whether the calories were all fats, carbs, or protein really doesn't matter in the long run.
