Favorite recipe: I pour in 3lbs frozen chicken breast and a can of Chipotle peppers in adobo. 25 min. Shredded deliciousness.

I have numerous Hawkins Futura pressure cookers. ***LOVE*** them.

They have an oval "funky" lid that you twist inside of the pot that keeps it from exploding... So there are no dials or buttons. Very simple / easy to use. They come in Liter sizes so, I recommend that you research the size that works best for you.

Recommend that you get the next size up from what you think you'll need because you can make stuff in bulk and freeze it.

I use them *all* of the time (and have different sizes - huge one for bulk cooking, large one for stew and the smaller one for beans / grains).

They are easy to use once you get the hang of them and pretty much fool proof. They can't be put in the dishwasher. The seal has to be set correctly so you have to remove the gasket (it's a rubber seal) and wash the groove and then wipe down the gasket with a sponge.

After a time (like 5 years) you might have to replace the gasket. It also has a zinc filled safety valve that will some out (and has to be completely replaced) if the water evaporates inside. Trust me on this, buy an extra one when you buy your pressure cooker because you will need it one day.

Amazon has them for a reasonable price.

I have an Instant Pot and love it! I have made broths, soups, rice, stews, pasta, chicken, roast and eggs. I love how it tenderizes tough cuts of meat. And it gives you that long cooked flavor in a fraction of the time.

Here is a group someone started. I help with post when I can. It is still small but some recipes there to check out. community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/115500-pressure-cooker-recipes-and-tips

I just recently got a pressure cooker and I'm in love with it! I use mine for making an individual serving of steel cut oats everyday. I've made hard boiled eggs, perfect on the first try. Chicken is super easy, comes out so tender it practically shreds itself with a fork. I do one boneless chicken breast, 3/4 cup water, 1/4 cup salsa or hot sauce, little s&p, and 10 minutes later its perfection. I wish I had gotten one years ago because it really makes cooking effortless.

I've done this recipe and it was soooo good!

Here's a very helpful link about pressure cooker times and elevation. I've followed it to a T and so far every recipe I've tried has come out perfect. I am at 5000 ft so I multiply the cooking time by 1.2.

A lot of the stuff you would do in a slow cooker, but fast. (tough cuts of meat, soups,...)
Beans! (No more extra day/night in the slow cooker before making something with beans).

I have the Instant Pot and love it for hard boiled eggs, large batches of boneless chicken that I can shred or cube and freeze for quick meals, soups and stews, stuffed peppers, etc. I'm not an "everything in the Instant Pot" sort of guru but do really enjoy it.
