How in the world did I ever eat 800-1000 calories before?!?! (Several years ago I lost weight on medifast eating that much.) now my calorie goal is 1490 and I'm sooo hungry! I know, I'm a wimp. I really can't imagine going back to anything below 1200! (Btw, if I cut calories every 10 lbs of loss, will I eventually need to go below 1200 to be able to lose? I have over 100 lbs to lose.)

You may still be eating too few calories.

I am 5'9, 170 lbs, and losing slowly and steadily on 2015 calories a day.

Maybe change your rate of loss from 2 lbs/week to 1? You'll get more calories, feel more full, and have a better chance of sticking to it.

I was unable to lose on 2000 cals , which is why I switched to 1490, the MFP recommendation. Maybe I should try the setting for 1.5 lbs, see if that is better.
    Thanks :)

Check through this chart, and if you aren't lining up with those things, make some adjustments.

Thanks. Love this chart . Do you recommend eating back exercise cals? (I use a Fitbit with HR monitor.)

A percentage, maybe not all. Start by eating 50%. If you're losing too fast, eat more of them. If you're losing too slow, eat less of them.
