Timing of meals

Yesterday night I came back late after cell group and just ate bread and some tuna spread. After that, I ate nutri grain cereal. This happened at about 10:45pm and then I finished at about 11pm. I slept at 12:30am. Will this cause weight gain because I heard that sleeping after food can cause weight gain? Please help.
Anyway, I didn't have time for dinner so that was essentially my dinner.

Meal timing is irrelevant to weight loss. Overall calories are what matter.2

But when I get off work at 11pm, I can't eat dinner? It's irrelevant, I'm maintaining now and still eat my dinner after I get home from work.0 -

If you're in a calorie deficit you'll lose. She said she's in maintenance and not in a deficit.
It's 7:40 here and I'm eating dinner. I'll be going to bed at 9. Sleeping doesn't magically turn everything in your stomach to fat. It's still going to digest as you sleep.1 -
But I researched online (Google) and they said that it will cause weight gain because we sleep which essentially means less calories burned0

It's just because you're not as active. Your body is still burning calories as you sleep.
You can eat 1500 calories right before bed. As long as you're burning more than 1500 calories throughout the day, you'll lose.2 -

If you are hitting your calorie goal, then eating late is irrelevant. It's not good to undershoot your calorie plan significantly and consistently.
Otherwise it's about timing your calories through the day so can focus on work etc. There is a wide swing here in what works for different people. The warrior diet has one eating all their calories in the evening, which would be hard for me personally but works well for others.
What others have indicated is the timing of your eating has no effect on whether you lose more or less fat, for the same calorie deficit.0 -
Google is probably the worst place to look. As long as you are at your calorie goal and not going over significantly, it makes no difference when you eat. You will lose weight over time if you are in calorie deficit. I have about 1500 calories left to eat, and it is 8:48PM. It is likely I will not be eating for another hour, maybe more, but I will still be in an overall deficit for the day so I will lose weight.3

That's what happens when you "research" things with Google and don't understand how to vet your sources for reliability.
I could go on Google and find "proof" that the Earth is flat and that Elvis is still alive and living in Area 51 with Bigfoot and space aliens. That doesn't make any of it true.3
