Is doing 10k steps a day moderately active?

I work a desk job from 9-5. But other than that I workout 3-4 times a week and I make sure to get a minimum of 10k steps a day. Am I lightly active or moderately?

I'd say lightly at the most. Log your workouts separately. Your activity level doesn't include them. Usually a desk job would mean sedentary but you can try lightly and if you're not losing after a month or so then adjust.

I would say it is at least lightly active. I am sedentary outside of my exercise, and I rarely get more than 6000 steps, often less. 10000 pretty much doubles that.

Does the 10K steps include your exercise? Or is it in addition to your exercise?

I think you're between lightly and active. Set to lightly and if you find you lose weight faster than expected, move it to active. Be sure to log your exercise separately.

OP - do you use a tracker that links to MFP? If so, I'd set your profile to sedentary and let it do its thing.
