Dropped 4lbs in just a week?

I weighed myself this morning at 124,9kgs (275lbs) and that means I lost 2kgs/4lbs since last week when I started minding my diet, logging and exercising.
The kicker is that my TOM is starting today or tomorrow and that I may even be a kilo heavier than I actually am due to water weight (my body consistently adds 1-2 kilos before and during my period in water weight, I noticed, which are gone within a week afterwards).
I want to be all YAAAY about it because I saw the numbers on my scale decline rapidly this week, but part of me is also a little worried. Am I really losing that much weight? I don't really skip meals or do crazy things, but I've been 200% more active in the last week than I have in the last month and I've been pretty good to stay beneath my calorie goal on average throughout the week. But while my goals are set to losing 1 /12lbs a week, I've more than doubled this somehow.
Should I be worried? I realize that it will slow down eventually, but most people struggle to see a difference in the first couple of weeks, whereas I'm blown away by the results to the point where I wonder if my (only half a year old) scale is broken. It's a digital one by the way.
I'm not seeing much difference in the mirror yet, but I feel a lot more energetic than a week ago. Maybe a lot of the weight was food in my body that I got rid of, but because I've been eating less I haven't put that weight back on? I don't know!
Just wondering if anyone's experienced the same and if I'm celebrating too soon, I suppose.

It's normal. Just don't freak out in your second or third week, when you don't see a big drop. Think months, not weeks. Good work so far0

I'd say this is normal and nothing to worry about. The first time I started losing weight 5-6 years ago I weighed in at 273 pounds and lost 5 pounds my first week. I had started eating better and basic exercise which was a huge difference from the sitting around and eating whatever. The first couple of weeks I did see bigger losses, then it slowed down to a more normal rate.0

I already prepared myself to not see ANY loss in the first 1-3 weeks, so no worries about me freaking out later on.I'm prepared for it to slow down!
I'm glad it's not abnormal though, I don't want to lose it unhealthily fast. Thank you!I'd say this is normal and nothing to worry about. I'm glad! I expect the same thing will happen to me too then. Thanks for sharing!

Hi, and congrats! I think it's the other way around, that is, most people actually lose more at the start of weight loss. It's a nice way to kickstart long term changes, imo.0
