Adaptation question: fat, carbs, exogenous ketones

So.... I've been at this [attempting keto] for about a week. I'm wondering if when you go over carbs, and have so much fat in the food for the day... are you just begging to pack on weight? Is it prudent to take the exogenous ketones to try to get the body to use the fat you're ingesting faster? Do the excess carbs (still trying to learn how to get them down in a day's worth of calories) get stored as body fat? I know there will be many "it depends" answers.... I'm asking IN GENERAL; I know every body is different.

I've managed to average about 50g carbs (gross, not net) over the past 7 days. That's considerably down from what is reported to be the average S.A.D. dietary intake of 224g for women. I know this is a process - I just want to be sure that having both carbs and fat at the same time isn't going to pack on pounds. (caveat: I'm down 4 lbs.)

Gaining weight requires that you consume more calories than your body uses. If you eat fewer calories than your body uses, no matter the source of those calories, you'll lose weight.

I don't really know anything about keto but...You only need to have calorie deficit to lose weight or "not store fat". I don't think it has as much to do with the macro% since you can lose weight(including fat) eating both carbs and fat.
