Looking to start meal planning before heading back to school. So I'm in need of a good app or website with recipes... the shopping list feature would be nice as well. I've found a couple but looking to see what others use.

If anyone wants to pop a recipe or advice in the comments please go ahead!

Meal planning is one thing, recipes is another. You write shopping lists based on what you'll be making. Not really rocket science.

Thanks for the helpful tip.... my normal lunch at school is fast food so I was attempting to find something better. I'm not much of a cook so recipes.and ideas would be super helpful. The shopping list feature makes life a little easier as well. Sorry for thinking someone who meal preps regularly might offer some help

I generally do my own meal planning, so I don't really have a website that does it for me. I know what I like to eat more so than a random site, but it can definitely be helpful for others who are just starting! I did find this site when searching online. I don't know much about it, but it's free and seems halfway decent from what I could tell. And it had a grocery list maker.

I usually shop once a week for my meals. That way produce stays fresh and I don't have to worry about wasting it. I ask myself what I want to eat for the week. I make a list of different breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. From there, I go through ingredients I need to make each meal. I then organize the ingredients into categories (produce, meat, dairy, dry food, etc) so that it's easier go through when I'm in the store. It's a little bit of a process, but it's worth it in the end! And once you have your first list, you'll find that it kind of stays the same from week to week and it wont take as long each time.

Here's some of the things that I commonly eat. Hopefully it will be somewhat helpful~
    Breakfast/Snacks
    •Chocolate mini wheats with milk
    •Handmade granola bar
    •Yogurt with fruit
    •Cottage cheese with fruit
•Oatmeal made with milk and apples
    •Boiled egg with fruit
•Scrambled eggs with microwave bacon and buttered toast
•Ice cream with cut up strawberries

    Lunch(With fresh fruit and veggies)
•Turkey, bacon, cheddar sandwich with tortilla chips and salsa
•Egg salad sandwich with cheddar pretzels and laughing cow cheese wedge
•Small chicken salad with boiled egg and ranch

    Dinner
    •Dinner sized chicken salad
•Chicken and rice (in lettuce wrap or in a bowl)
    •Ground beef pasta
•Tacos and rice in lettuce wrap instead of tortilla
•Spicy grilled chicken on slider buns
•2 oz burgers on slider buns

I'm checking out an app called Eat This Much. I wish the tracking integrated with MFP which I've been using for years. The paid version has a leftover feature so lunch tomorrow is based on dinner today.
