Since sleep is so important to being healthy, let's talk about it.
What are your bedtime rituals?

I sleep at around 10p.m. and get up around 7:30a.m. I get at least a good 9 and a half hour sleep so I can get some of my papers done for work or finish other activities.0

My ritual is in bed at 10.30pm. Wake up every hour. Fight myself to go back to sleep. Get frustrated. Up for good at 4am.1

That's my ritual too0 -
Ritual? Brush teeth, consume valerian root capsules, sprinkle a dozen or so grains of pink salt into the palm of my hand and pop them into my mouth, holding them between my tongue and the roof of my mouth to delay complete dissolving for a few minutes, lay down, get fetal, and sleep. That usually happens around 11:30 pm. Mrs keeps her light on playing her facebook games until midnight. I seem to have become able to fall asleep while she does that, although for quite a few years I could not sleep with her light on. If I can get 5 hours of sleep I'm pleased. Six hours leaves me ecstatic. Seven hours happens 2 or 3 times a year and that's a good time to meet me.2

Computers/phone off min of 1 hour before bed. Get ready for bed, relax with a little tv for an hour (usually eat a small snack) in bed by 9:30. Wake up between 3:00 and 3:30 (early to bed and early to rise for morning workout).0

My ritual is that I stay up too late every night. By too late I mean I get ~3 hours of sleep, which doesn't feel like enough to me.
Every day I say to myself "I am going to go to bed earlier tonight". I fail every day.
No matter how little sleep I get, come 11 pm I am wide awake.
We'll see how it goes tonight!2 -

This!!! Every single night! I've tried showering before bed because I heard it's supposed to do something to your body temperature to encourage sleep, didn't work. I do gentle yoga before bed and while it certainly relaxes me, it doesn't do much. I have this lavender sleep spray that's supposed to help, it doesn't. I'm jealous of people who can fall asleep and stay asleep!

It's exactly the same for me, *sometimes* if I am lucky I will get 4 hrs but mostly 3 and I can feel so close to falling asleep anywhere from 8:30-10:55pm, just exhausted, but can't seem to quite get there, then 11 rolls around and I get some sort of horrible energy even though I still feel so tired, if that makes sense..an unwanted second wind of sorts that I have to fight through to get those 3-4 hours eventually.0 -

I hear you!
Me too, exactly!
2 am here for me...oh well, I am somewhat good at not sleeping and functioning.0 -
Here is why sleep is important: you burn the most STORED BODY FAT when you sleep. If you aren't getting enough sleep, you need to find another way. Or even visit a sleep clinic.
