So, I lost 4st in a year, was about 5lb to target, I decided to lower it giving me about a st total to lose. Then came the binging. I gained a st back and have yoyoed ever since.
But today is a fresh start. I am going to do it. The game plan is eating better (i used to eat within calories but about 500+ calories from popcorn and chocolate), I will be eating more filling food, beans, pulses, nuts, tofu (vegan here lol) and generally just healthier. Cutting out squash and sweets at work, so I feel better in myself.

Im thinking of joining a gym, but am nervous at the thought of it. I have read the reviews which say staff are very helpful and welcoming but I am still scared. I am tempted to email them for advice and peace of mind.

So I am writing this maybe for tips and advice, but mostly to vent my thoughts and finally

Draw a line.

Sounds like you've got some plans set. I joined the YMCA and have never felt judgment there... I get caught up in judging myself at times but have never felt uncomfortable that others are treating me differently there. I enjoy using the pool and weights and taking a number of their classes. I've met many new friends there as they have all sorts of activities for members.

I say go for it, life is full of uncomfortable situations and often times it's more in our head as once we jump in it's never as bad as we thought.

this is mostly likely happening because you are restricting foods while losing so when you give yourself a little leeway you go all out because you never learned how to be around that food without over-consuming it or completely cutting it
