Drawing a line

So, I lost 4st in a year, was about 5lb to target, I decided to lower it giving me about a st total to lose. Then came the binging. I gained a st back and have yoyoed ever since.
But today is a fresh start. I am going to do it. The game plan is eating better (i used to eat within calories but about 500+ calories from popcorn and chocolate), I will be eating more filling food, beans, pulses, nuts, tofu (vegan here lol) and generally just healthier. Cutting out squash and sweets at work, so I feel better in myself.
Im thinking of joining a gym, but am nervous at the thought of it. I have read the reviews which say staff are very helpful and welcoming but I am still scared. I am tempted to email them for advice and peace of mind.
So I am writing this maybe for tips and advice, but mostly to vent my thoughts and finally
Draw a line.

Sounds like you've got some plans set. I joined the YMCA and have never felt judgment there... I get caught up in judging myself at times but have never felt uncomfortable that others are treating me differently there. I enjoy using the pool and weights and taking a number of their classes. I've met many new friends there as they have all sorts of activities for members.
I say go for it, life is full of uncomfortable situations and often times it's more in our head as once we jump in it's never as bad as we thought.2 -
this is mostly likely happening because you are restricting foods while losing so when you give yourself a little leeway you go all out because you never learned how to be around that food without over-consuming it or completely cutting it2
