Cooking whiting on the stovetop using little oil

Our oven doesn't work. I'd like advice on cooking whiting on top of a stove using no more than a tsp of oil without making the fish mushy.

Good non-stick pan. That's all I do. Though admittedly haven't cooked whiting but I do it with all other types of fish.
You could also do the fish stew, fish curry route too. Fishcakes. Lots of ways to use fish that isn't just in a pan on its own.1 -
The trick is just not to overcook it. It's done when it can be easily flaked apart.0
