Busy nurse, student, mom... How do I make it work?

I wanna know how all you busy people out there make it work and stay healthy at the same time. It's really hard to squeeze in exercise with my family, work and school. I do jog on Saturdays but want more. Do you have tips for helping stick with an early morning workout? Anything that's helped you overcome stress eating would be helpful too. The school part of my life will not last forever... But I don't like the idea of just giving up on my body because I'm so busy.

Hello. A fellow busy person here as well. I've locked down Wednesday after work for gym time. I try to build in activity in doing everyday things. Take the steps. Park far away from the store and walk. Doing something is much better than doing nothing. This is hard. I struggle with the eating less and fighting cravings as well. Just keep plugging away..

Honestly when I was a young mom going to school and working 3 jobs, I didn't have time to exercise. I also didn't have time to eat, so my weight was never a problem. LOL My full time job was also manual labor so that helped keep my muscles up too. I'm sure nursing is the same. You are on your feet all the time, having to move heavy patients. Does your university have a gym? Can you fit working out in between classes? You have a lot on your plate. I would cut yourself a break and maybe just concentrate on your eating.
I can't help with stress eating because I'm a stress non-eater.0 -
I can so relate to your post...i'm currently in the tunnel...you know the one with the light at the end of it? The tunnels name is MAY...it's sooooo close! I'm currently an AEMT in school for my associates degree in Paramedicine, My days at work (usually 80+ a week) are spent in ambulances waiting for the 911 call, and school days are long from 8 or 9am to 6pm...with significant travel time (3 hours one way)....Thankfully I do not have children right now...some things that have worked for me really are things like meal planning and scheduling my work outs. Some semesters it's easier than others, right now I'm getting into a great groove of early morning runs...before the day starts and gets to busy to do it! Again finding little ways to get in small "workouts" such as parking far away or doing squats when picking up things off of the floor, involve your kids in doing some exercises like push ups or sit ups etc.... and again, don't be too hard on yourself! You've got a lot going on1
