Hi all,

I'm 22 or so kg down from diet but really looking now to actually get a bit fitter. It would be great to have a few friends who are training for anything really just to get in to the habit of seeing what people do on a regular basis. My training is pretty small time right now as I'm trying to get my body used to exercising but every other day I'm doing something.

Would be great to have a few follow less fit folks aiming for something!

Hi! I'm Stephanie and I'm into cycling and stumbling my way through the other two disciplines ;) I am currently training for Ironman 70.3 Augusta. If you would like some company give me a shout! Plus, if you want some humorous friends send a friend request to Pathetic Triathlete on Facebook. It is great fun!

What's your current training plan? When's the tri?

Swimming out doors scares me or I'd love to try a Tri.

I do run and cycle though.

Tri is not my thing. I didn't learn to swim until I was an adult and I'm never going to be a strong swimmer.

I'm currently training for a 25km cross-country mountain bike event in about 4 weeks time. Once I knock that off, I'll crank up my training so I can do the 50km next year.

I'm close to 20kg heavier than race weight which means I should be even faster once I drop some weight.

My training intensity bounces around a bit because I juggle training around family and work commitments, but I aim to train at least 3 times a week and increase total training load from one week to the next.

I'm using a Training Peaks plan just for Augusta. It's on September 24th. I'm pretty excited about it! A group of us do open water swims at a nearby park/lake.

I'm training for my first international / Olympic distance tri in July! My training schedule is run-heavy right now because I'm doing a half marathon in May, but later it should be more even with S/B/R.

I'm still trying to lose the last few pesky pounds, which is hard to do because training makes you so hungry!

    Hi Toad,

At the moment I swim every morning for 40 mins then cycle to work (10k) and 10k back. Monday, Wed and Fri I stop by Victoria park on the way home and do some HIIT work. No running at the moment, trying to drop a few more KG. Race is 22nd July. Only a super sprint (400/10k/2.5k) so nothing too heavy.

I've just started training for the great south run (a 10 mile run in October). I'm not an athlete but have swum from Isle of Wight to mainland (3ish miles) and been on a 4 day cycling trip to Germany (450 miles). I'm slow, fat and stubborn. I realised I need things to train for or I struggle with motivation. Looking for people who are also training for things. Feel free to add me.

Training for a sprint tri in June and in Sept. I may do more if the desire hits during the summer, but honestly I've been losing interest over the last few years. I never really enjoyed the biking, and I find every year I dislike it more and more. BUT I like the structure of training for an event; actually I think I enjoy the training more than the event itself. Most of the year I run and lift, and it is nice to have a little variety during the summer heat.
This reminds me that I really need to get out and on the bike!!!

I've done triathlons in the past, but at the moment I'm more of a pure cyclist. I'm returning from a long layoff and right now I'm mainly focused on getting back down to my riding weight first before working on performance. There's a century here in November each year that I may target, depending on how fast my riding fitness comes back.

I'm looking to add people who are training for something in addition to and/or instead of losing weight to help with motivation.
