What if.......?
Nowadays smart phones is almost everything. No one can live without it. Imagine if we never had smart phones, old TV, slow Internet . Jus like the early 90's. What would you folks be up to, and how do you think society be like? Some say it would be better, what are your thoughts folks...

I think people would take selfies with polaroids.1

Don't have a smart phone and am still alive.
With reduced internet- More snail mail. Less long distance shopping. Fewer long distance friendships. News from fewer sources. Would probably go to the library more. Listen to more local radio. Less cat pictures/videos. See less pictures of people's lives.
I don't think it would necessarily make the world better.
It wouldn't be terrible either.0 -
I'd be out playing sports and enjoying the outdoor. That is pretty much what I do now anyway. I hate technology.0

porn over dialup. i was much more patient way back then. so right now, if it were still like that, i'd patiently be sitting in front of my computer instead of impatiently sitting in front of my computer clicking through 30 different tabs.0 -

If we were still stuck on dial up I would probably would have never developed a porn addiction.2 -
A lot of people complain about how easy access to technology is making society terrible but I disagree. I think the main difference now is just that we have instant access to information about all of the terrible things that are happening in the world - before you'd have to, my god, read a newspaper to hear about it.I think people would take selfies with polaroids.
This is definitely true. A lot of people like to rag on millennials for their selfies but then explain this?!
But in general I'd still be doing what I'm doing. Other than when I exercise or during the summer months when I want to go out to the beach or something I'm a serious homebody.
Selfies started wayyy back2 -
I miss mIRC

I'm not very social, never have been so I'd guess that...
If my social interactions and interests made me want to go out in public I'd probably be getting into trouble more. I have an impulsive personality and make a lot of random decisions.
Or, I'd be a complete recluse...holed up at home reading books, playing video games, still watching tv and movies, listening to music, etc. Stuff I do now, just minus cell phones (which are my favourite invention ever) and the awesomeness of the internet.
I think society might be worse. Today we can entertain ourselves and interact with people anywhere with our devices, or can stay safe at home and still do so. If we didn't have the convenience of modern technology more people might interact in person and there would be greater potential conflict that causes bodily harm. So I guess I think today is "safer".
One more thing, I might be better at spelling if I didn't have the convenience of spell check and google every time I need it, lol.0 -
