I only lost 6 lbs and I can now feel my collarbones and hipbones poking out. I could not feel them before. So excited for what's gonna be next5

About 7 weeks in I saw my belt buckle in the mirror.7

I started noticing a difference around 7 pounds lost, but now I have lost 13 pounds by exercising 5 times a week and tracking my calories every day. It hasn't been as hard as I thought to stay motivated because the improvements make me feel better mood-wise, and my confidence in my appearance has improved. The biggest moment was when I could suddenly fit into size 8 pants, for the first time in 20 years. My only complaint is that no one except my husband has commented on my weight loss, even after returning to work after a long break. Oh well, maybe people are trying to be polite and not emphasize my appearance. And my husband is the most important person to notice!5

when pants were to big and shirt shoulders drooped and belt notch moved...2

I only had 13lbs to lose, so I'd say after 5lbs I felt better, after 10 I needed smaller jeans/capris/shorts. I had a great change to my waist and below than above my waist though. My shirts still fit fine, but my jeans fell down.1

Hello people..and so where are we at and how are the goals coming up? I have been reading this inspiring thread and would like to know how much more progress has been made.. feel free to add me as well. I could use some more fitness friends0

I have only lost 5 lbs, however two weeks of going to the gym and my muscles feel firmer and my posture is better. I can feel the confidence. Being a fat person who is losing weight feels so much empowering than a fat person who doesn't like his body but is doing absolutely nothing about it.
That being said, visually I don't notice much difference yet.
Liking this a thousand times!3 -
This is a great discussion topic. I agree with the very first response in that it depends on how much you have to lose in the first place. I started at 260 and am down 54 lbs so far. This is the most emotional process I have ever been through in my life, as I have never really tried to lose weight before. Call it denial or laziness on my part, I don’t know and I don’t care. I am not going back there. But to answer the question is that I would say I started to see it around 30 lbs in the mirror, but I could feel it around 15-20 lbs. At that point I noticed that all the seats I sat in fit better, like the movie theater, my car seat, the hair dresser seat. That felt great and I became addicted to that feeling of just fitting and now I have room to spare in a seat at Musical theater that is notoriously tight seats. So maybe in the mirror I still see a tummy that is not flat yet or thighs that have just have not received the memo, but I hold on to those feelings from my other successes. I know my heart, my pulse, my recovery and my confidence have increased with every lb lost. But the beginnng can be a challenge, I hear you, I feel you and I am right there with you. I have found monthly photos and measurements also help my perception!8

I gotta start... Tomorrow lol0

I just started my third week and I am frustrated. I have only lost 5 lbs. and was hoping to lose 10 by now. I know that is probably too fast, but it is so hard to get the scale to go down!1

I noticed a change about 8-10 lbs in. There's a stark difference between losing weight and losing fat mass that I didn't pay attention to the first 40 lbs a few years ago. I just realized I spent the years in between eating at maintenance and essentially recomping. I am finally seeing my hard work as the fat finally melts away.1

Late Feb I was able to put on my winter coat and zip it up, with a sweater underneath. When I bought it two years ago, it fit perfectly. I couldn't even zip it in December 2016. Now, I tried it on for the upcoming winter and it is BAGGY.5

i went from 285 to 190. Really i started to notice it after 6-8 weeks. Then after that it was monthly. I took a bunch of progress photos and sometimes you'll feel it in your clothes but if you look at weekly progress you'll start to really notice the differences. It's subtle at first but in hindsight it's far more obvious. After 6 months i had gone from 265 to 200 and at that point the difference was night and day. If you put in some effort and just stay consistent you can make significant change in a short period of time.4

Thankfully, I took many people's advice early on and took regular progress pictures. Boy, are some of those early ones crazy to look at now. I always suggest this to other people too because honestly I did not begin to notice a difference until my jeans started to become too big. Even now, I don't think I would truly be able to grasp the gravity of the change unless I had those pics.
Nobody at work said a thing to me until I had lost like 50 pounds. When someone finally did, it was the absolute last person I would of expected. Some of them have since admitted to me that they did indeed notice, but it is just kind of an awkward conversation to have amongst guys. Now people that have not seen me in awhile? They are visibly shocked. When I went home for Labor Day weekend to visit my family I was the focus of attention, which was a bit off putting.

I started at 229 and now weigh 203 (26 lbs down). I feel different...less thigh rub, I don't have to move my stomach off my thighs anymore, and I'm wearing smaller clothes. But no one has noticed which confused me until I saw a recent picture. Now, despite the changes I feel, I don't think I look much different...yet.3

Wow. Huge congrats dude! You look amazing, great job1 -
I was a little bit out of tuned with my body as I had a lot of things going on but when I took a progress picture I was quite baffled. I have lost 33lbs and my pants finally seem a bit looser. I have just under 50lbs to go now. I suggest look at your body regularly, feel it, get intimately acquainted with it (I know what you're thinking). It will help your transition from being the overweight person to being a thin person. If you know your body, you will start to love it and you will have a better chance of noticing small differences.4

And to add: my face seems to have changed the most. I never knew I had such incredibly high cheek bones. I'm a bit skeptical that it may be too sharp, but we'll see as I lose more weight.4

I dropped 80+ pounds. I noticed a difference about 3-4 weeks in of being consistent with eating better and working out.
- I could walk faster and longer and needed more of a challenge.
- My taste buds were adapting to my new way of eating. I didn't miss the pop or the sugary drinks I use to consume all day and I was getting used to eating more fruits and veggies.
- Physically speaking my clothes were starting to get loose on me and I noticed one of my double chins was starting to get smaller.
- A few weeks later the inches started to melt off and it was then I knew my routine was working and I was on my way!
These changes inspired me to keep going and I never looked back!

It's been 5 weeks of working out 5 days a week lifting heavy weights (Chalean Extreme) and I'm finally seeing results. I'm down 5 pounds (less than 1 pound away from onederland (took 5 weeks to see the pounds truly go down as they went up and down for the first 4.5 weeks) and I am more active than I've been in years! I can now do 4 regular on the toes push ups (huge!!!) and I can walk up sloped hills with less wheezing and stopping to catch my breath!!
So for me I can say it took 1 month to truly start seeing results. My body is still pudgy and squishy and I have 11 more months to go ( I'm doing 1 year fitness transformation journey.) But I feel the muscles underneath getting stronger and my arms are already showing signs if muscle growth.3 -
Some suggestions to see difference is to measure oneself once a week and you can record using the progress part of the app, weighing weekly again you can record on the progress app and then taking pictures which you could put next to the weight part in the progress part. You can go to weighing machines which can assess more than just overall weight such as body fat. Take note of when you have your period if you do as this can affect your weight, size and so on so I have heard and noticed myself. Good luck.0

I'm down 11 pounds (goal 35 pounds)- don't think I'll see a real difference till I hit the 20 pound mark- clothes are definitely looser but not down a size yet- but, I do notice my face no longer looks so big and puffy!2

20lbs. I had 140 to lose and one day I was just like hey, I didn't have to suck it in to zip these up!! It was so freeing.2
