You feel like you're eating is completely off the rails and yet you are still way within your calorie limit?!?

I am so used to preparing my own meals for lunch that at a work meeting today, I helped myself to a half sandwich, salad and ate two chocolate chip cookies :-) Because it's not my "norm", I thought I was way off but I am still within my calorie goal. It's a bit mind boggling ... I am guessing because my 44-year old brain has been conditioned to think "you have to eat these exact things to continue losing weight". What I am learning via MFP is that I can still "live my life" and lose weight! It just throws me every time!

That happened to me at our company Christmas party. After I had eaten just a little of everything and was quite full I might add, I was shocked to see that I still had a good bit of calories left.

Yes, in fact when I started logging I realized that I was massively under-eating about half the time (which accounted for binging on the other days). MFP helps me stay consistent. Weight loss or not, it's also better for my health overall.
