Hey there I am 2 weeks post partum and I was hoping to connect with some women who have lost the baby weight before or who are currently working on loosing baby weight. I weigh less than when I got pregnant currently but I look no different. I definitely could use some suggestions on fat burning foods, exercises which are post partum friendly, and meal planning suggestions that are quick and efficient for someone going through such a change. All advice is welcome and feel free to message or add me as a friend. Thank you!!

I'm trying to lose the baby weight... But my baby is 5. Lol.

Look into recomping. Your weight may be fine but it can help change your shape. It also doesn't require much (or any) of a deficit. Whether you are breastfeeding or not, your body needs to recover properly and starving it isn't the way to go.

You just had a baby 2 weeks ago. Give your body time to recover. And rest! That's the most important thing right now.

I'm 5 months PP myself and I totally understand the struggles.

All I suggest to new mothers is to get as much sleep as you can, be gentle with your body while you recover, and google diastasis recti before beginning any exercise, especially abdominal work - in a nutshell, your abs separate when you're pregnant and don't always come back together properly. Resuming classic ab exercises, such and crunches and planks, can make the problem worse. However, there are certain ab and pelvic floor exercises that will correct the problem, and help eliminate 'mummy tummy' and things like postpartum incontinence. Good luck. Feel free to friend me - my youngest is now three.

    Hello there,

I lost kilos just breastfeeding. That's is 700 extra calories burnt per day and it is wonderful for your baby!!!

Try not to stress too much, your body will probably still change alot over the next couple weeks, you cant return overnight what took 9 months to make :)

Make sure you get cleared by your doctor before you start exercising! Don't want to mess up the healing process.

If you are breastfeeding make sure to make slow changes and pay attention to your supply. This post has alot of great info on calorie counting while breast feeding in the second half.

Hi! I lost 40 pounds after my first kid (who is now almost 5) and then gained quite a bit back with a second pregnancy followed by postpartum depression, and I'm looking to lose about 60 pounds this time around. Anyone feel free to add me
Also, two weeks pp is pretty quick to start trying to lose weight, so if you're breastfeeding, make sure you're eating enough to keep your supply up and filled with nutrients, and take it easy on exercise unless you really feel up to it. You may still lose weight anyway as your body recovers, since you're still very much in the postpartum recovery time frame.

This. At two weeks pp I didn't even know what my name was.. the sleep deprivation was real (well even at 15 months pp it's still pretty bad to be honest lol)

There are no fat burning foods..if you want to meal prep things like portioning out nuts, snacks, chopping up fruit and veggies, boiling eggs, making foods like soups in bulk (slow cooker or crock pot was a lifesaver for me) and freezing them is what I used to do. And definitely wait until you are cleared by your doc to start any exercise. Obviously if you are nursing, you need to take that into account and not drop your cals too low.
Also patience is key. It took me 7-8 months to lose my baby weight and get my body composition back.. and I thought that was super quick!

It is strongly recommended to postpartum women to do NOTHING for weight/fat/body recomposition until after your six week appointment. Your body just did the hardest thing it has ever done, hormones are crazy, sleep is wildly variable, and breastfeeding complicates everything for some women too. Give yourself a chance to heal and restore yourself to your new normal before trying to change anything.

My daughter is 5 months old. I unintentionally was down at least thirty pounds the day of my six week appointment. I've gone on to lose another 15+ pounds in the last three months.

Before pregnancy, I was 30 pounds heavier than I am now but I simply look different. I carry my weight differently (much more belly/hips compared to all over like before) and my tummy isn't as firm.

Your body has changed over the last ten months! It should and will take time to feel normal again. Give yourself time to get to know yourself before launching into the recomp you desire.

Rest! Snuggle your baby. Rest some more. Eat all the good foods and remember that your body didn't grow a baby overnight and it isn't going to bounce back from that in a couple of weeks. I remember looking in the mirror at approximately 2 weeks postpartum and feeling like my body was completely and utterly ruined, so if yours looks the same, you're doing great already!

I had my son 5 years ago and I struggled with my weight consistently. I considered eating "healthy" at that time, anything that consisted of me eating a salad. Overtime, I lost my milk supply and it was an indicator that I wasn't as healthy as I thought I was. I ended up losing the weight by strictly eating salads however if you ask me today what I would have done differently, it would be that I would eat the healthy stuff and whatever makes my munchkin happy and healthy. You'll lose a lot of weight when you breastfeed and then eventually you'll taper off breast feeding and you can eat lesser portions, find "healthy" fats, etc.

I'm 3 weeks pp and starting to count my calories, in case I eat too much, lol! I always forget to eat, and then make horrible choices like cake, and chocolate. I need to plan ahead more,
