Settling. Have you done it?

I only settle on the stupid stuff that doesn't really matter, like parking spots, paint colors and brand name sandwich bags. Mostly materialistic things.
If it's really important to me, like the quality and character of my spouse, or the location of my residence, I don't settle. For example, I'll settle for a small house in my desired location, because that's the kind of thing that matters more to me. I know other people who will take a crappy location and a nightmare commute in order to get a bigger, "better" house. That bigger, better house is just more space to maintain and keep clean, and no matter how nice you make it, you can't change where it's at.
There are certain things I'd rather be without than settle for less.0 -
