Hello,
I weighed in at 187lbs today and I've always worked that out to be 13stone 3lbs (roughly) but my partner (and when I google it the other way around) it comes up at 13.5) I'm feeling very deflated and a bit fed up that I've been working out my weight wrong and I'm 2lbs heavier than I thought so it's totally playing with my mind and I now feel quite fed up (I suffer from OCD and it's making it hard to just let it go)
How come the weights are different?

I suspect you've been confusing fractions of stone with lbs. 1 stone = 14 lbs, so 187 lbs = 187/14 = 13.36 stone. To get the fractional part in lbs, you have to multiply it by 14 to go the other way, so 0.36 * 14 = 5 lbs. So, 13 stone, 5 lbs. (NOT 13.5 stone. That would be 13 stone, 7 lbs.)
It might be easier to avoid mixed units and stick with either lbs or kg, and never mind stone.3 -
It's not different. One stone is 14 pounds. Half a stone is 7 pounds. 187 pounds is 13 stone and 5 pounds, not 13 and a half stone.0

The reason for the difference is that there are 14lbs in a stone. If you divide 187 by 14 you get 13.35 stones, approximately what you thought. But the 0.35 is a fraction of a stone (14lbs) not a straight 3lbs. To get to the lbs you need to multiply the fraction by 14 which gets you to 5lbs. So 13.3 is right and 13 stone 5lbs is also right.
Ultimately you are better off just thinking in one set of units, anything else will drive you crazy trying to find the one that makes you feel better. Good luck,0 -
I just let google do my conversions... I thought we all did? lol3
