How to count calories burned

Hello. At what during your workout do you stop counting calories burned for record keeping purposes? I start at the beginning of the workout and stop after my cool down, but I notice the count going up a good amount for several minutes after.

I mostly ride a bicycle. If I'm on the bicycle I count it. Otherwise I don't.0

I only count the active part of cardio, and don't count weight lifting calorie burn at all.0
