Considering ARTIFICIAL TURF

Living in CA, our water has only gone up in price. Last couple of years I've had to let my lawn suffer because of water restrictions. So I've considered artificial turf. It's not cheap, but if anyone has it now, could you give me some pros and cons of owning and maintaining it?

A lot of people in Australia are getting it, there is a lot in our neighbourhood. Most looks fake, which I can't stand. A lot gets hot underfoot, although I think the newer stuff may be better.

The funniest part I find is the people with fake lawn hiring gardeners or spending time weeding their fake turf.

Pros: no watering, weathers the elements, looks good for a long time

Cons: it's fake, the good stuff ain't cheap.

We dug up 7000 square feet of lawn and buried it. It's expensive to haul away.
We now have all desert landscaping. It looks great and is relatively low maintenance.

The urban legend says that if a dog or any other animal pees on fake grass, the smell will be horrendous and stay forever

I just put acorns out and in a few years the oak trees grow big enough to shade and kill the grass underneath.

    Brady Bunch did it.

It looks 100% like real grass!

.... except for the seams and five different colors

I was trying to figure out for so long what you circled before I realized it was a hulu hoop

    Thank-you!

I was trying to figure it out too, and the circle looked just a bit odd to me, shape, colour...don't know what just something about it was very distracting to me

Hint: the red thing... just to it's right, that is called: a wagon.

Ever notice that you never saw Tiger's dog *kitten* in the yard?
