Thanks everyone for all your help. I have been donating blood/platelets successfully for the past 13 years with high hemogloben count until my last 2 attempts. I was deferred because my hemogloben dropped to
an unacceptable level. My doctor suggested more green leafy veggies and red meat which I avoid due to high cholesterol. All your suggestions are sure to get me back on track with lots of great foods to choose from.

As low haemoglobin suggests anaemia it's not protein you need it's iron - hence your doctor suggesting red meat / green leafy veggies.
