Worst weekend of the year, diet wise.

SO's birthday was on Thursday. He wanted a pizza party. Since I started my journey this year, I was down 12lbs with only 11 more to lose. Pizza fit into my schedule, and I just ate at maintenance. Could have gone for a third piece of pizza, but stuck with just two. His mom even got him a cake. I only ate half a slice since they insisted I have a piece. I dont really even like cake.

Then Friday night was his surprise birthday which was also a potluck. So much food. I definitely ate way too much, but also hadn't eaten anything all day prior to the party. Had another half a slice of cake. I had ordered it from a local lady, so I wanted to taste it for myself so I could honestly thank her and assure her it was delicious. There was just an amazing amount of food at this party, and all leftovers were given to my SO to take home.

Saturday hits and I am suffering from a cold that finally has hit full force. Ate a bunch of party leftovers, since we were sent home with all the leftovers. Wasn't logging. Was sick and just didnt care. Didn't think I ate too much, but I am sure all that snacking added up. Felt the bloat.

Sunday comes along, I am still fighting this nasty cold, but we had a preplanned day for a luncheon with a group of people by boat. Beer drinking ensues, and then a decent size lunch, and back home late that night. Once again, munch on way too many leftovers, and even go for a bowl of ice cream. Now I am really feeling guilty.

Worst diet weekend I have had all year.

I know I can get back on track no problem, and luckily I only weighed in 2lbs heavier today. It just amazes me how I could eat almost 3000 calories yesterday without the blink of an eye, after months and months of success. I haven't binged like that in a very long time.

I really want to kick this cold outta here fast, and get back on track with my 1500cal a day limit and 16:8 IF.

I know its only temporary, but seeing the scale jump back up, instead of the steady downward direction it HAD been going, kinda blows.

I hear ya! But just know that it was just one weekend out of the whole year and life happens. I'm sorry you've been ill and hope you get to feeling better soon.

Thank you! beyond really to shake this cold, its miserable.

Im trying to remind myself that, and trying to not feel so guilty. Luckily, don't have any more of those big party weekends planned for the year so far, so I can get back on track lol

Stuff like that happens. The scale fluctuates. You have a great mindset that you can and will get back on track after this temporary setback. Keep in mind, this is a lifestyle change and birthdays/celebrations with food are part of life. Hope you're feeling better!!

The scale goes up and down every day. Weight loss is not linear. You just hit it on an up day and water retention from the junk food. You will be back on track soon.

I had a very bad weekend this well- I am just going to accept that these things happen from time to time and keep moving forward.

Good luck with everything- you definitely got this :)

Forgive yourself first. I heard about sweating out a cold in the gym? Make chicken broth or chicken soup from scratch is healthier. Go and do some calorie burning exersizes !! Burn those calories tell them who's the boss !!

I cant breathe or get away from the tissues for longer than 5 mins, let alone go try and work out lol. Not that dedicated. Sick time is allowed in my world, so I am taking it easy to recover and not drag this mess out, or share it with others.

Thank you guys for the motivation. Im craving the leftovers I know are in the fridge, but taco salad is going to be for dinner instead. Thats almost yummier to me!

In times like yours, sick as a dog and losing the will power to stay the course I'm glad I have people close by to reach out to who will even go out of their way to cook for me. People always talk about having an 'accountability buddy' on here and maybe that's what you need? (At least when you're sick) Not sure that helps you much but a different perspective I guess.

Im very lucky to have a supportive boyfriend who has been running to the store grabbing more meds every time I run out. Also, have a doctors appointment scheduled tomorrow to get some antibiotics to help get rid of the crud.

When the junk food isnt in reach, i dont eat it. I dont buy it from the store, and I dont even crave it. But when it shows up in the house, we both are like vacuums and cant stay away from it. Mentality of "we have to eat this before it goes bad" type. Luckily we buy chicken in bulk, and I keep a fresh supply of veggies at all times, so there is rarely room for junk in the fridge. Not to mention with the 11 dozen egg cartons full from our farm chickens.

I know I can get back on track, I just was feeling guilty for literally eating everything in sight. One night was okay, I had made room by fasting all day to justify it. But by the 3rd day I was like GET A GRIP ON YOURSELF! Haha.

Weigh the left overs, eat them and log them.

That's great you've got that support, I think it helps too when it's your partner because they can say the things that need to be said behind closed doors. Having a back and forth like that is what helped me get my *kitten* into gear. Hearing things like, 'you're making a bad decision' means more I think because with anyone else I'm like 'go walk a dog'.

Not sure what you can do to prevent something like this in the future, but staying positive and not shaming yourself for veering off the path a little goes a long way.

    Keep grinding Kenzie.
