Yes, eat them. If 950 is hard, how are you ever going to maintain your weight?0

Of course it matters how many calories you eat. You need to NET 1200 meaning if you work out, you need to eat those calories back. You can lose on a lot more than 1200, why don't you try figuring out your BMR and TDEE?0

If it didn't matter how many calories you eat there wouldn't be a reason to log them or a reason to have a goal to reach. Since you're on MFP and logging calories and were given a goal then yes, they matter.0

Yes, they matter big time.
If you eat too many you gain weight, if you eat to few you become ill.
The healthy way ...well that is to eat the correct amount of calories to lose weight and be healthy or to maintain your weight.
So if MFP has given you 1200 cals a day then eat them. There is not a lot of point logging into the website if you are not going to try to follow the plan
If you are here to make a healthy change to your life, then there are lots of replies to similar questions in the search bar that may help?0 -

Look into calorie dense .... but nutritious foods. 1 tablespoon of peanut butter is almost 100 calories ..... 1 OZ of almonds is 160 caloires (that's not a big serving) ..... add some olive oil to your veggies & roast them. Add seeds to your salad .......avocado is another high calorie (and healthy) food.0 -

there's just no way you can win0 -
Even though there is somebody roaming the threads claiming that calories do not matter.....they do. Big time. If you are struggling to eat 950, you may want to re-assess your goals.
ETA: maybe adding a small amount of calories at a time until you are comfortable eating more calories?0
